In January 2003 the Food and Drug Administration approved the use of beads in a miniature acrylic copolymer to be used for the treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids. This procedure is known as uterine artery embolization or United Arab Emirates. The uterine artery embolization procedure involves inserting a catheter through the femoral artery and uterine artery, where the accounts are injected. Estas bolas son transportadas por el flujo de sangre a los fibromas, donde los vasos sanguneos son ms pequeos. The accounts are lodged in the blood vessels that reduce or prevent blood flow due to the fibroid. Without food for blood, the fibroid should theoretically quot; morirquot, as a result of the contraction and reduction of symptoms. br The approval by the FDA and the study that led to the adoption suggest that this treatment was a reasonable alternative to hysterectomy for women with symptomatic fibroids. However, the FDA review of the literature, adverse event reports, and patient record data indicated potential problems with uterine artery embolization as premature menopause and the cessation of uterine bleeding. br Recently, the results of a Dutch multicenter study presented at the annual meeting of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe says great concern about ovarian function after these procedures. br In the Dutch study, 177 women with symptomatic fibroids were randomized to uterine artery embolization or hysterectomy. Ovarian function is measured by assessing blood levels of the hormone or AMH antiMller. Hormone antiMller is a relatively new quantitative indicator of ovarian reserve accurately. Reflects the number of eggs a woman has gone. AMH levels decreased rapidly in both groups of women, who had a hysterectomy and those who had United Arab Emirates. The decline was much faster than expected on the basis of aging in women who have neither procedure. br Of course, fertility decline is not a problem for most women undergoing hysterectomy for fibroids, but can be important if women are opting for uterine artery embolization as a means to preserve their uterus and the potential of having children. br Interestingly, one in four women who had uterine artery embolization underwent a hysterectomy within two years due to recurrence of symptoms. br It is also unclear what impact the United Arab Emirates may have on a developing pregnancy. Some studies suggest there may be a higher incidence of complications and adverse outcomes. It is therefore not advisable at this time that women with symptomatic fibroids who are interested in preserving their fertility should consider other options. 1 br IVF HomeInfertility InsuranceMedical InformationEmbryo DonationOvarian Reserve Men FertilityIVF fertilizationPGD In vitro Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis PCOS Polycystic Ovaries br SyndromeHSGGlucophageSuperovulationDirectorySite MapIUI Procedure br
