Problem: There are a number of small studies that either show a low risk or no risk to pregnancies conceived after the United Arab Emirates. Small studies are difficult to interpret because statisticians can not make sense to a small number of women. Furthermore, no study has compared the results to similar women with fibroids that were not treated. br Study: These authors combined the results of many published studies and analyzed the information as if it were a part a larger study (called a metaanalysis). We compared the results of 227 women who became pregnant after UAE, with 4454 women who had the same age and had similar fibroids, but had not received treatment before becoming pregnant. br Results: Miscarriage rates were higher in the United Arab Emirates pregnancies (35.2%) compared to women with fibroids, but not treatment of fibroids (16.5%). Women who had United Arab Emirates before their pregnancy were more likely to experience excessive bleeding after delivery (13.9% after the United Arab Emirates vs. 2.5% in women with fibroids, but not treatment). There were no differences in rates of premature delivery, underweight babies, or babies breech. br Conclusions: For women who become pregnant after the United Arab Emirates, the risk of miscarriage and the risk of excessive bleeding after delivery appears to be greater. br notes Dr. Parker: While studies with only a few women are difficult to interpret this study as a target (analysis) is not perfect. As the authors never see any of the women in studies from outside, it is possible that differences in the separate groups of women were present, but not reported in the original articles. However, since it is unlikely that an interventional radiologist to 227 women in their practice, who gets pregnant after the United Arab Emirates, this type of study may be the best information we can get. br The majority of interventional radiologists in the U.S. advise women not to become pregnant after the United Arab Emirates. This advice is given, not because they know that the United Arab Emirates harm during pregnancy, but experience especially because there is not enough with the United Arab Emirates and pregnancy to tell women everything should be fine. For now, the council is likely to remain the same as before. br Disclaimer: The ideas, procedures and suggestions contained in this website is not intended as a substitute for consultation with your doctor.
